Jeff S. Chance
Jeff represents lenders, developers, buyers and sellers in the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing and financing of improved and unimproved real estate. He represents hotel, shopping center, apartment and office building developers; commercial and residential project owners; timber owners; lenders and borrowers; individual entrepreneurs; corporations making multi-state sales of facilities and land holdings; and landlords and tenants leasing office, retail and residential space. Jeff has significant experience representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, including stock and asset sales and purchases. He often serves as counsel to businesses in their day to day business operations.
Jeff is co-founder of and serves as general counsel to Fortis Title and its family of title companies. Jeff and his wife are active members of their community and church. Their son and daughter-in-law reside in San Francisco where he works in private equity and she in marketing. Their daughter is a graduate student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Jeff is a competitive open water swimmer, regularly competing in coast to coast events.
